The Lwówecki District ends with the implementation of the first in its history project financed by the Norwegian funds. From February 2016  six thousand people were tested. Six health promotion actions and three  thematic conferences were organized, in which two thousand people in total took part.

Hot thanks  to the residents of the Lwówecki District for participation.

On 26^th April 2016  in the Mieszczańska  Hall in Lwówek Śląski, the last conference was organized within the framework of the project called “The promotion of health and prevention of cardiovascular disease for residents of the Lwówecki District”, implemented within the framework of the Programme PL 13 Reducing social inequalities in health financed by the Norwegian Financial Mechanism 2009 – 2014 and the national budget.

At the beginning of the conference, all the people were welcomed by the Head of  the Lwówecki District Mr Marcin Fluder. After that, a doctor Mr Marcin Karasiński, a  specialist in anaesthesiology and intensive therapy, summed up the implementation of the programme of preventive.

Then, a doctor Mrs Agata Kaczmarczyk – Radka, a specialist in internal medicine, cardiologist presented an analysis of the health of the residents of the District  in terms of cardiovascular disease.

In subsequent speeches the principles of healthy nutrition and a lecture of first aid and cardiovascular diseases were presented widely.

In a break between lectures, invited guests were treated with healthy refreshments consisting of a variety of snacks and meals. Besides lectures and other surprises,  a medical station was provided where participants were able to measure blood pressure and body weight and calculate body mass index BMI.

The conference was attended by representatives of the district authorities, the directors and employees of health care and health services, councillors, students of upper secondary schools, community leaders and headmasters  and employees of  schools of the Lwówecki District.

All people, registered in advance, are welcomed to our  town square in Lwówek Śląski  at 10 o’clock.

School, family, informal teams etc. are invited to the setting of the bikes in their groups on the sidewalks around the place of  the assembly point.

Then, each participant is asked to go to a central point next to the fountain (with a colourful desktop) to subscribe to the list and receive the accessories on the tour.
The bike-tour goes  from  the assembly point in a police escort, then we go according to the orange arrows that are placed along the route.

We do not race, but  help each other. Fortunately, we get to the finish line. At the end, all the participants are given a two-course meal, promotional giveaways and prizes won in contests.

The weather is ordered, so don’t be afraid, but it’s important to be dressed  according to the weather. And the most important: all the time we have a good time. There will be around 380 people – an absolute record.

Among children and adolescents aged 10-19 years, who were surveyed as a part of the medical services in the programme for the promotion of health and prevention of cardiovascular disease for the Lwówecki District, one prizewinner  will be drawn  from each  municipalities of Lwówecki District. A  prize in the competition is a bicycle for each of the five drawn prizewinners. An  announcement of winners will occur during a conference organized by the Lwówecki District within the framework of the programme for the  promotion of health and prevention of cardiovascular disease for the Lwówecki District.

On 26^th November in the Environmental Hall in Gryfów Śląski, the second conference was organized within the framework of the project called “The promotion of health and prevention of cardiovascular disease for residents of the Lwówecki District”, implemented within the framework of the Programme PL 13 Reducing social inequalities in health financed by the Norwegian Financial Mechanism 2009 – 2014 and the national budget.

At the beginning of the conference, all the people were welcomed by the Head of the Lwówecki District Mr Marcin Fluder, who thanked for arrival of numerous group of people.

Then, a project manager Mr Marcin Lampart presented the foundation of the project, the time frames, the planned operations and he  invited for watching a film presenting  bicycle routes of Lwówecki District, as well as all hitherto existing performances organized during the realization of the project.

Mrs Edyta Malczewska, a Medical Coordinator of the project , took aslo the floor,  encouraging everybody to participate in the research.
Another point of the meeting was the lectures with a range of healthy eating and cardiovascular disease presented by a doctor of medical sciences Mrs Monika Zygmuntowicz.

In a break between lectures, prizes in the form of bicycle clothing and gloves were given for the winners of the contest, which took place during the Bike Tour on 12^th September 2015. The awards were handed out by Mrs Małgorzata Szczepańska – the Member of the Board of Lwówecki District.

On 26 th September 2015, during the 7^th Festival of Dolnośląskie “Gifts of the Forest”, the family picnic with the health zone was organized in the town centre of Lwówek Śląski.

Within the framework of organized posts information for a healthy lifestyle was submitted , as well as basic research was carried out with the diagnosis of cardiovascular disease.

Rehabilitation post “ Exercises for evberybody” – well- qualified physiotherapists  Mrs Kamilla Góral and Ms Agnieszka Nestorowicz presented exercise techniques  and encouraged to active forms of spending free time. This post enjoyed special interest among kids, who were crazy about  balls, „beans”, bikes…. It was an education through entertainment.

First Aid post – using dummies (adult and child),  paramedic Mr Dariusz Sikora presented ways of  first aid in a sudden deterioration in the health status,  including chokes, loss of consciousness, epileptic attack, stopping the heart rate (CPR) The taining on this stage brought benefits for school youth from all over the County and individuals – families, grandparents with their grandchildren, disabled.

The experiences gained during the training in this post indicate that knowledge of first aid is insufficient, and just 30 chest compressions being performed accordingly can save someone’s life.

Research post: measurement of blood pressure, heart rate, blood oxygen saturation study, sugar levels, BMI. Above examinations were performed by the following nurses: Teresa Truchan, Małgorzata Kaczmerek, Jolanta Markowska, Jolanta Skawińska, Barbara Fijałkowska, Krystyna Głuszuk, Renata Łopato. Nearly half a thousand were tested on this post. The screening helped to identify a group of people with exceeded testing standards and have indicated the need for further diagnosis, particularly in the direction of diabetes mellitus and hypertension.

Culinary workshops – were conducted by Mrs Zofia Fryst from agrotourist farmhouse called “Homestead along Prussian Dragoons “. During these workshops, crumpets made from  all sorts of organic flour (e.g. buckwheat or spelt), with herbs and honey from local hives were baked in a wood fire oven. Children made lemonade from honey and mint. Before proceeding with the work of workshop participants received an kitchen apron  and took part in a professional hand-washing course. Nurses took care of keeping proper hand hygiene, so the children could see the ways and means of hygiene in the hospital. After baking crumpets made by children themselves , they were given an apple and a peach .

Healthy  food post – promotion of  healthy eating by handing out fruit and vegetables.

On 19^th August 2015, in the seat of Powiatowe Centum Zdrowia Sp. z o. o. (District Health Centre Company  with limited liability) in Lwówek Śląski, medical staff  was trained to perform the exercise stress testing and a system of long-term monitoring so-called Holter, which was leased within the framework of the programme for the promotion of health and prevention of cardiovascular disease for the purposes of the Lwówecki District.

Thanks to a specialized hardware, used in this therapeutic programme, patients qualified by the doctor of the first stage or a physician cardiologist will be  subjected  to a thorough diagnosis soon.

The equipment is designed for specialised studies in people with heart rhythm disorders and suspected coronary heart disease

Thanks to a specialized hardware, used in this therapeutic programme, patients qualified by the doctor of the first stage or a physician cardiologist will be  subjected  to a thorough diagnosis soon.

The equipment is designed for specialised studies in people with heart rhythm disorders and suspected coronary heart disease
